48 Hours in Las Vegas: A Weekend Guide

Las Vegas has so much to offer!

but also so much to take! Like your wallet.. or your liver or.. BOTH!

Las Vegas is the city I always wanted to visit. As a kid, in France, I had a little book where I was putting pictures of cities I wanted to visit. Las Vegas was one of them (read my story). I finally realized one of my dreams: a weekend in Las Vegas!

Las Vegas is more than gambling or partying like the “Hangover” movie suggest. Las Vegas is unique destination, in the middle of the desert, where everything is possible. A dream city for some, a sin city for others.

This is my weekend guide of Las Vegas, to enjoy and see as much as possible in a short amount of time.

WHERE TO STAY:

You can’t visit Vegas without staying in the Strip!

The Venetian Hotel

The Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes
The Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes

There are so many hotels on the Strip that it can be difficult to choose. Choose a theme, budget and book it! I stayed at The Venetian and it was affordable. For only $129/night (you can’t beat that) we had a gorgeous suite. It felt like everything was put in place for you to enjoy your stay.

TIPS ALERT: Depending on how busy your hotel is the day of your arrival, ask nicely at the front desk during your check in, if there is an upgrade available. Sometimes you can get them for free, or sometimes you will have to pay a low amount to be in a bigger room 🙂

The Venetian Suite and the view

In my opinion, The Venetian was the perfect spot to enjoy the Strip. You feel like in Italy. The gondolas and the gondoliers at the Venetian canals singing serenades to enchanted lovers, multiple restaurants and shops to indulge your unique taste make for the perfect romantic spot or weekend getaway.

WHAT TO DO:

  • The fountain show at the Bellagio is magic
Fountain Show at the Bellagio
Fountain Show at the Bellagio

The schedule is Monday – Friday: There is a show every half-hour from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. – midnight. Saturdays and holidays: The show runs every half-hour from noon – 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. – midnight.

  • Go On Top of the Eiffel Tower!
View on Top of the Eiffel Tower

I have not had a chance to return in France for about 5 years now. So I couldn’t visit Las Vegas without going on top of the Eiffel Tower. It’s 541-foot (165 m) tall replica which is about half of the real Eiffel Tower. Seeing the Arc de Triomphe replica touch my heart and made feel as if I was home… for a second!

STORY TIME: When I told you Las Vegas takes your wallet, it literally took my wallet. I lost my wallet and I can tell you, I was about to die from anxiety…

No wallet = no money = no id = no drinking = no flight to come home = heart attack.

Everything went well. As if an angel coming from the sky my wallet was found and was giving to the lost and found office. Hallelujah!

  • Las Vegas is the new Broadway: Go See A Show!
Cirque du Soleil: Ka
Cirque du Soleil: KÀ with my boyfriend <3

SHOWTIME! In Sin City, there are shows for everyone! Magic Mike anyone ? No. Thank you. My boyfriend and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil: KÀ show and it was absolutely stunning.

KÀ tells the epic tale of twins on a perilous journey to fulfill their shared destiny. A masterpiece in storytelling, this ultra lavish production features mind-bending acrobatics, fierce martial arts, blazing pyrotechnics and jaw-dropping aerial adventures.

TIPS ALERT: Go to Vegas.com or click the banner below to get the best prices for all the shows in Las Vegas. We had the best seats !

  • Walk the Strip! Duh!

Probably one of the rare free things to do BUT probably the best thing you can do for your liver and wallet. If you want to walk the strip be ready to walk a few miles

I visited after Thanksgiving, all the hotels were decorated for Christmas, and the weather was really nice.

Las Vegas has everything, for everybody. It’s all about what you want to do and how much you are willing to spend!

Your definition of Las Vegas est très bien. Votre Anglais est aussi parfait.
    Bonne continuation
